Lest we forget.

Many of us have faced difficulties in this journey called life. That is what life is all about anyway. One moment you are happy and the next you are unhappy. The good thing is that Jesus Himself did not promise us a smooth life. While on earth, He underwent trials and temptations, was hated in His own hometown, was denied three times by His very own disciple and even worse, was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, another one of His disciples. He lost loved ones, like Lazarus His close friend, was crucified, died, was buried but He rose again on the third day.
If Jesus went thorough all these, yet He was the Son of God, how about us? We are merely sons and daughters of men. We are brought into this world through the lineage of Adam and Eve. These two were the first sinners in the universe.
Through sin, we have to go through a lot in life. We lose our loved ones, we get sick, fall into temptations, become broke and break up within our relationships.
The amazing fact is that these occurrences do not take God by surprise. He tells us in Psalm 139:15-16, “My frame was not hidden form you, when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be”.
The whole of our lives are in God’s hands from conception to eternity. We often forget that God listens to us when we call on Him. The problem is when we are having our lives running smoothly we forget God but run to Him in times of difficulties. The thing is, the God of the good times is the same God during bad times.
Just like in the book of Deuteronomy, we need to beware of where God has brought us from and we need not forget all the challenges He has enabled us to overcome.
In happy moments in life, learn to praise God, in difficult moments, learn to seek Him for He can always come to your rescue. It is very true that whenever we hit rock bottom, that rock bottom is always Jesus.
Do not forget today what God has taken you through. He could have given you that long awaited job, spouse, baby or any other thing you trusted Him for.
The moment He provides for you, Thank Him.
He is a God who does not want us to forget Him!
Today, remember God, your creator who holds your life in His hands.
