I was going through me daily devotional guide the other day when I came across a very interesting story. I thought I might share it with you so that it can inspire you just like it inspired me. Here it is…

A painter was pushing a paint roller high over his head. Fine droplets of paint fell on his spectacles. After he was through with the day’s job, he went home to rest. The paint droplets were noticeable to others but not to himself. No one took time to tell him of his glasses, everyone went about minding their own business.

The following morning as he was going to work, the angle of the bright sunlight through the lenses of his spectacles made the paint droplets visible and annoying. The story ends here.

Now this made me really think about us Christians. We see our brothers and sisters stumbling but we do nothing about it. We’d rather mind our own business and watch them go astray instead of approaching them and letting them know of their mistakes.
Jesus, in His pure character, genuine love and unmixed motives reveals specs of sinfulness in everything we do. Apostle John wrote: “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves (1 John 1:8), but thank God “if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the father Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).
When we confess our sins, He intercedes to the father on our behalf. Then God can cleanse us of those tiny specs we do not always see.
Detecting sin is the first step to deliverance from sin.
